Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Able to make change, reconcile cash tills and compute discounts.

  2. Must possess or obtain a food handlers certificate within 30 days of employment.

  3. Effective communication skills - good auditory acuity, able to respond to questions, provide information, and demonstrate interpersonal skills and abilities that promote positive guest service.

  4. Physically fit: able to stand/walk for long periods of time; able to perform routine bending and lifting of product up to 20 lbs.; able to perform repetitive motion of arms, hands, wrists and fingers; occasionally lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.

  5. Prior work history shall exhibit dependability and responsibility at meeting strict attendance requirements.

  6. Flexibility in scheduling is essential. Candidates shall be available to work schedules that include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work schedules may often change to meet the needs of the business.

  7. Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.

  8. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

  9. Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Six (6) months of food and beverage experience and three months cash handling experience.

 
Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for cashiering grocery items, stocking shelves, filling all food and drink orders in an efficient, healthful and attractive manner while rendering excellent customer service. This position will train in and perform all functions of Mission Market which includes: order taking, espresso drink and sandwich preparation, making pizza's, POS operation, cash handling, equipment cleaning and general facility maintenance. Schedule will reflect the market's business needs.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensure customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient and friendly service.

  2. Promote internal guest service standards with courteous and respectful behavior toward co-workers and staff.

  3. As directed front face, stock, price, and keep clean grocery and snack counters.

  4. Stock, price, and keep organized the stores walk in cooler and freezer.

  5. Assist with food preparation including: sandwich component preparation, cutting and slicing condiments, and replenishing supplies as needed.

  6. Efficiently and courteously take orders and enter into POS system; handle payment methods appropriately.

  7. Prepare foods to order including sandwiches, pizzas, and soups; promptly prepare orders for guests.

  8. Dispense beverage and specialty orders including but not limited to: soft drinks, espresso drinks, ice cream and derived items to order.

  9. Ensure that food items are handled in a healthful and safe manner by adhering to food handling standards such as "first in first out", or FIFO, at all times.

  10. Constantly maintain work and supply areas well organized, sanitary and safe. Keep the store cases full and looking attractive.

  11. Keep market seating areas clean and free from debris, promptly disposing of used products left at tables and wiping down tables, chairs and condiment counters under established cleaning guidelines.

  12. At the beginning and end of each shift, check supply needs and replenish accordingly.

  13. Keep supervisor apprised of operational concerns: menu items, recipes, safety practices, kitchen inventory and supply needs, etc.

  14. Report any health standards or safety needs immediately to supervisor.

  15. Operate equipment, tools and materials in a safe manner at all times.

  16. Adhere to company policies, regulatory laws, codes, and department procedures.

  17. Other related duties as assigned.

 
Salary $13.00-$16.00 Hourly
