Description

JOB SUMMARY: An exempt position responsible for clinical practice supervision and implementation of concepts consistent with patient-centered initiatives within Hancock Physician Network. This implementation may include pilot development of initiatives at one practice in the network, then branching out to apply concepts to all practices. Responsible for managing the daily operations related to nursing care in line with clinical practice standards.

 

JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES: ? Clinical Performance - Monitor outcome indicators of clinical performance and compliance with concepts of patient-centered initiatives and shares with primary care managers monthly. ? Staff Evaluation - Makes sure the performance and productivity of all clinical staff are evaluated on a regular basis throughout the year and annually. ? Quality Initiatives - Participates in all planning, budgeting, policy making, and decision making related to the development of patient-centered initiatives.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Participates in all planning, budgeting, policy making, and decision making related to the development of patient-centered initiatives. ? Collaborates with physicians to establish stakeholder knowledge of patient-centered initiatives. ? Develops relationship with nursing and business staff to create stakeholder interest in PMCH or other patient-centered initiatives. ? Collaborates with administration at Hancock Physician Network to ensure all nursing aspects related to patient-centered initiatives are incorporated into operational systems. Monitors outcome indicators of nursing performance and compliance with concepts of patient-centered initiatives. ? Collaborates with Revenue Cycle Director for cohesive practice between clinical and business workflow. ? Makes sure the performance and productivity of all nursing staff are evaluated on a regular basis throughout the year and annually. Advises on appropriate corrective actions and development opportunities. ? Maintains high quality of care by clinical staff through continuous improvement of standards and protocols. Ensures all staff is trained in quality assurance/control requirements and meet those standards. ? Stays current with state and federal regulations/requirements and updates professional standards for nursing for the medical practice appropriately. ? Oversees clinical nursing care, ensuring compliance with established regulations and standards including quality assurance, confidentiality, and electronic medical record documentation. ? Provides direct supervision to clinical staff, ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of patient health. Serves as key problem-solving resource for staff on patient issues. Studies patient needs/trends and suggests solutions to ongoing patient care problems. ? Collaborates with Chief Clinical Officer on development and implementation of nursing department’s mission, goals, policies, procedures, and work standards. ? Makes sure the performance and productivity of all nursing staff are evaluated on a regular basis throughout the year and annually. Advises on appropriate corrective actions and development opportunities. ? Responsible for ordering all medications including vaccines and staying abreast of changes with vaccine delivery and billing. ? Collaborates in review of data on patient outcomes, quality assurance results, budget/goal achievement, and performance/productivity with Chief Clinical Officer. ? Participates in medical practice planning related to clinic and emergency/disaster response system. ? Collaborates with Chief Administrative Officer to assure cohesive operations between clinical and business interests of the practice. ? Attend management meetings as scheduled. ? CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Current Indiana RN (or other degree) license through the Indiana Health Professions Bureau ADDIIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: ? Bachelor of Science in Nursing required ? Master’s degree preferred ? Basic Life Support certification. ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies, scope of practice, and/or Hancock Physician Network.
