Job Summary:Responsible to assist the Maintenance Technician in performing routine maintenance and repair work. • Lubricates and cleans parts of electrical and mechanical equipment as assigned; Reports mechanical problems to the Maintenance Technician.
• Checks and replaces light bulbs and exit light bulbs.
• Cleans lint, dust and dirt from dryers, vents, and heat registers in patient rooms and other areas.
• Hoses out garbage cans.
• Keeps ground cleared of debris; Collects and disposes of leaves and refuse in keeping with local code.
• Assists in performing fire drills.
• Washes windows and screens outside the building as assigned.
• Assists with lubricating potty chairs, wheelchairs, shower chairs, wheeled geri-chairs, drug carts, etc.
• Works jointly with housekeeping department personnel to service floors, all patient rooms, baths, lounges, nurses stations, and offices, as assigned.
• Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.
Education:
• High School Diploma. Experience
• Training and/or expertise qualifying the individual to operate and maintain the electrical and mechanical systems within the nursing center.
