Business Unit Manager

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

LEADERSHIP

  • Serve as a key member of the Leadership Team, setting and driving the overall strategy for the individual internal business unit (BU) by displaying good analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills through critical thinking and numerical reasoning
  • Display a well-organized and data driven approach for a strong bias for action through establishment of goals and objectives for the Business Unit
  • Develop and manage staff within the BU
  • Ensure actions taken in the organization are aligned to Extant’s Business Culture
  • Support leaders in building a strong leadership pipeline
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

FINANCIAL

  • Responsible for the full profit and loss of the Business Unit
  • Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principals
  • Responsible for Price, Productivity and Profitable New Business within the BU
  • Demonstrated project and budget management skills

REPORTING

  • Accountable to proactively communicate all operational and commercial financial metrics within their business unit
  • Provide regular performance updates to the Senior Leadership Team

CULTURE

  • Build a high performing team within the Business Unit through displaying strong coaching and interpersonal development skills
  • Develop and execute strategy to build and strengthen leadership team for succession planning
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment
     

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI’s):
 

  • Booking(s) (Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Targets)
  • EBITDA (Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Targets)
  • Value Price (Quarterly/Annual Targets)
  • Profitable New Business Booking(s) (Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Targets)

MINUMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field plus a minimum of 4 years direct industry experience, most of which must have been in an Operations Management role or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree e.g., MBA and closer to 8 years of industry experience, all of which would have been in an Operations Management with some forward-facing Sales/PM experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience required
  • Must be able to support domestic and international travel as required by the business. Travel ~20-25%.
