Test Engineer 4720 




Responsible for all production and repair test activities in support of assigned products.

Authors or edits procedures and documentation through change management process directly related to products.

Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting of systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing.

Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products.

Works with assigned operations personnel to establish test plans and supports completion rates for test work cells.

Transitions test solutions between factories during product acquisitions

Interfaces with management to present program status, capital requests, or continuous improvement initiatives.

Excellent oral and written communication skills


Responsible for test equipment capital inputs and productivity planning of the Business Unit


Accountable to proactively communicate all operational and technical risk and opportunities within their business unit

Provide regular performance updates to the Engineering Manager


Proactively support the operations build plan by providing technical support that generates productivity


On time delivery (minimize equipment down time and provide troubleshooting support)

Deliver solutions that maximize productivity of operations team

First Pass Yields


4 year degree in a technical discipline; plus a minimum of 8 years direct industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Strong analog and digital troubleshooting skills to the component level

Software programming or diagnosis to aid in troubleshooting

Excellent interpersonal skills, can tailor conversations appropriately to target audience, communicates clearly with managers and technicians, works effectively in teams or alone with little supervision.

Comfortable with ambiguity and constant change, nimble and responsive in the short-term while driving progress on longer-term initiatives



Must have excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination, able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and will at times be required to work with some chemical and bonding agents.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
