Domestic Violence Specialist needed for temp to hire position in Philadelphia.
The Office of Homeless Service (OHS) DV Specialist will assist OHS staff and conduct intake by assessing the needs of persons presenting for service and arranging for direct access to a DV safe havens or other safe options. When no DV safe haven beds are available, the DV Specialist will provide information on available services and connect clients to those services.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to Providing trauma-informed intake and DV counseling and support, including safety planning. Providing direct service links for clients to external resources necessary to establish safety in leaving a domestic violence situation. Coordinates with DV Hotline Counselors, collaborates with the Philadelphia Domestic Violence Collaborative (PDVC) to refer clients for Emergency Placement Services, to be informed of available DV safe haven beds; facilitating the transfer of clients experiencing Domestic Violence from the general shelter population to a DV safe haven or other safe options; and support OHS and agency's housing voucher process, which includes assisting clients in the completion & submission of housing applications.
