Share Email Opening Title Engineering Summer Intern  Description Duration: Expected to begin sometime in May, the target is a M-F, 8-5 work schedule with some flexibility based on business conditions and management approval.  Expected to finish internship assignment sometime in late July or early August, but willing to be flexible based on student schedule. Pay Range: a flexible scale from ~$20 – $30 hourly Expectation & Project Scope: It’s expected that the project(s) this intern works on will culminate in an end of assignment formal presentation to the senior leadership team. Summer Engineering Intern is desired to perform REACH analysis on Extant part numbers. Candidate should be, at minimum, a junior level student in an Electrical Engineering or related field of study. Candidate will work with component engineering for guidance on completing the short-term project. Candidate will gain a working knowledge of component engineering and REACH compliance crucial for companies that export products to the European Union. Candidate would perform REACH analysis on Extant’s master parts list with the intent of importing all data into Extant’s Materials and Resource Planning system. The end goal is to automate REACH reporting, which is currently a manual process taking 2 to 3 weeks This is directly tied to productivity by automating a manual task. Role & Responsibilities Work in the Engineering Department under the direction of the Head of Engineering or their designate Develop a project plan with deliverable and metrics with the support of the Head of Engineering or their designate Evaluate components and parts and capture all REACH related data Compile a master spreadsheet in Excel of all part numbers and associated REACH data Minimum Education/Experience: Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree; a current junior or senior status, in good academic standing.
