Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (SHC) is a Lasallian Vincentian Catholic, co-educational college preparatory secondary school located in the heart of San Francisco, California. We provide academically rigorous, vibrant learning grounded in social justice and student centered pedagogy. Our entire community is committed to cultivating each student's unique talents and passions, providing myriad opportunities for students to discern and realize their individual intellectual, artistic, athletic, social, and spiritual potential. SHC is a San Francisco Archdiocesan High School that is cosponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, District of San Francisco New Orleans and the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Description

Position Summary
This position is a 3/5 FTE faculty position whose primary responsibility is the scouting and schoolwide implementation of best and next practices in learning, including technology-enhanced pedagogy and teaching resources. It may be combined with a 2/5 FTE teaching position for a full time faculty role.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Model for students the characteristics of a Lasallian Vincentian educator;

  • Support SHC’s mission, philosophy and integral student outcomes;

  • Provide strategic leadership in creating institutional culture and capacity for innovative learning design and assessment in service to a diverse student body;

  • Share research and analysis of emerging technologies (digital, web-based, software), instructional design theories, and teaching and assessment resources;

  • Provide direct support to classroom teachers, modeling innovative teaching practices and coaching to enhance engagement and learning;

  • Collaborate to provide differentiated faculty development which fosters school-wide collaboration and effective practices for learning and administration;

  • Help design new tools, templates, and resources that support faculty innovation, especially in digital education;

  • Assist the Assistant Principal for Academics in formal observation of teachers;

  • Liaise with the Information Technology staff to ensure effective use of technology, integration of platforms and data, and efficient adoption of new software and web-based instructional materials;

  • Develop and oversee an annual budget, including line item funding for professional development and oversight of federal funding;

  • Maintain active memberships in local, state, and national education, innovation and/or technology associations;

  • Assume other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal.

 
Position Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree;

  • Three years experience teaching or in school administration;

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively to plan and achieve student learning;

  • Demonstrated organization, strategic, and communication abilities;

  • Demonstrated experience working across learning management systems/with digital resources;

Desired Qualifications

  • Teaching or administrative credential;

  • Graduate degree (preferably in education, instructional technology, or related field);

  • Experience in a Catholic high school setting;

  • Experience facilitating faculty training and learning experiences.

Teaching or administrative credential

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft software applications, Google Suite/Gmail and internet usage, and database management. Must be proficient with General Ledger and related software programs.
