Description

ProMedica Senior Care provides a range of services, including skilled nursing care, assisted living, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice care, home health care and rehabilitation therapy. The Managed Care Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing managed care strategies while securing contracts and developing business relationships with designated Managed Care Organizations in assigned territory. Work with operations, case management, sales and marketing teams to build managed care census and revenue. Additionally, the Managed Care Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining knowledge on a continual basis with regard to CMS, customers and competitors to determine current situation and identify trends and opportunities in assigned territory.
  • Assisting Sales and Marketing teams with national and local managed care strategies which increase managed care referrals.
  • Negotiating and managing contracts and working relationships with select managed care organizations, insurance carriers, and worker’s compensation companies.
  • Working closely with Case Management as it relates to assigned contract management and administration, such as: leveling education, exclusion management and other opportunities to optimize our agreements; provide training as necessary regarding agreement implementation.

Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field required; MBA preferred.  
Position Requirements

Minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably in health care services, products or pharmaceuticals; previous sales management experience preferred; demonstrated success in the field of sales management; excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
