Location Midland  

Centennial Resource Development, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDEV) is currently seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Manager that will report to the VP of Operations. The Occupational Health and Safety Manager will be a key member of our Operations team and be expected to manage the Company’s health, safety, and loss prevention programs, working side by side with the Operations, Regulatory, and Environmental teams. This position will also manage the Health and Safety budget. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, operational and communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in Midland, TX, with regular travel to field locations in Pecos, TX and Eunice/Hobbs, NM.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Company’s safety programs including compliance with OSHA and employee safety training
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and insurance records
  • Works with all field levels and roles as well as office staff to ensure health and safety compliance
  • Recruits, hires and manages staff of contract safety personnel in the field
  • Manages and tracks all injury statistics for the company including classification, type, and root cause analysis. Works with the operations staff to identify countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
  • Assists in development and delivery of Company’s COVID-19 response plan
  • Maintains expertise in and ability to communicate changing state and federal regulations, standards, and laws as applicable to geographic area supported

Compensation & Benefits Information:

  • Salary range is approximately $147,000 - $183,000, depending on specific experience*
  • Other forms of compensation for this position include:
    •  Target bonus of 30% of base salary and any eligible overtime wages (discretionary based on company and individual performance)

Company takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering/Science, or closely related field of study preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in equivalent role, or 5+ years in a health and safety role
  • Prior experience supporting upstream energy services and/or production operations strongly desired


  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong ability to lead both employees and contractors as well as act as a team player
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to effectively communicate with other CDEV employees and external parties
