Quality Summer Intern 

Description

Duration: Expected to begin sometime in May, the target is a M-F, 8-5 work schedule with some flexibility based on business conditions and management approval.  Expected to finish internship assignment sometime in late July or early August but willing to be flexible based on student schedule.

Pay Range: a flexible scale from ~$20 – $30 hourly

Expectation & Project Scope: It’s expected that the project(s) this intern works on will culminate in an end of assignment formal presentation to the senior leadership team.

Quality Summer Intern is desired to support Inventory Management improvement efforts. Candidate should be, at minimum, a junior level student pursuing a degree in engineering, business or related field. Candidate will work with Quality Engineering and Quality Technician staff for guidance on the short-term project. Candidate will gain a working knowledge of Customer Furnished Equipment (CFE) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), as well as Quality Management Systems and requirements.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Working in the Quality Department, assigned to the Head of Quality for day-to-day direction and project assignment, check in and successful completion
  • Will develop and project plan with deliverable and metrics with the support of the Head of Quality

 

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree and a current junior or senior status, in good academic standing
  • Excellent MS Office skills, specifically utilizing Excel and/or Access Databases
  • A sense of business acumen with a general understanding of fundamental business principals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus
