SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Service Contracts, the Food Service Sanitation Manager is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to supervisors, and all workers (disabled and non-disabled) assigned to the Nellis AFB Mess Attendant Contract.  The Food Service Sanitation Manager is responsible for the daily operations of contract work and for the health and safety of all workers while they are engaged in contract activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage the staff and individuals served who work in the dining facilities to ensure safety, efficiency and quality of work is maintained at assigned contract location and is in compliance with the Statement of Work (SOW), State, Federal and Military requirements.
  2. Assist in the administration of the Quality Assurance and Training Program.
  3. Interview, hire and perform New Hire Departmental Orientation.
  4. Conduct staff performance reviews, evaluations and corrective actions.
  5. Act as the liaison for Opportunity Village and the Military personnel and will communicate daily with the Prime contracting office/services.
  6. Schedule employees, maintain accurate attendance records for all workers on the contract, and insure timely submittal of attendance information.
  7. Make certain that changes to scope of work, methods, materials, or environment that can impact standards are addressed immediately and standards are reviewed and revised as needed.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position supervises the Supervisor Food Service.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a cohesive team.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate, respond to inquiries and interpret instructions from management, contract representatives, staff personnel and workers with disabilities.
  • Ability to define problems, collection of data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and count/exchange money.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Computer literate.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or its equivalent and eight (8) years of verifiable work experience in the food service industry, with five (5) of those years in management role.
  • Required: Valid Nevada Drivers License and a clean annual DMV report and must be twenty one (21) years of age in order to be eligible to drive company vehicles.  Must complete and pass the Smith’s Driving Training Course administered by Opportunity Village.
