Associate Systems Administrator 

Description

Position is responsible for support of or assistance in the support of district-wide implementations, maintenance and administration of all vendor supplied software applications and workstation system upgrades. Provide assistance on server administration and maintenance such as backups, system monitoring, server software/OS installation and configuration of systems, and patches. 

Essential Functions:

1. Assists with the administration and maintenance of end user accounts, permissions, and assess rights, as assigned.

2. Assists with the installation, operation and administration of servers and workstations; both operating systems and hardware as assigned, updating Knowledge Base and Disaster Recovery/Outage Procedures where applicable.

3. Assists with the installation, maintenance, and support of core district systems, district critical third party systems, and district equipment as assigned, updating Knowledge Base and Disaster Recovery/Outage Procedures where applicable. Tasks will require 24x7 and/or after hours support of customers and co-workers.

4. Assists with the administration of folders in the district share drives as assigned.

5. Assists with the development of new system strategies and deployment of system resources as assigned.

6. Coordinate regular reviews with other systems, network and database administrators regarding current and prospective system changes. Research and recommend future needs.

7. Coordinate, monitor and troubleshoot system performance providing reports, analysis and recommendations. Implements approved course of action and document changes.

8. Assist in defining new workstation requirements and the related installation processes.

9. Evaluate all new requests for software and/or upgrades to existing software. Research marketing and technical material. Maintain software evaluations documentation for team review and reference.

10. Assist with or perform routine audits of District software ensuring that the District is license compliant and that software no longer in use is removed from District equipment.

11. Manage projects assigned; both internal to department and external involving TTC infrastructure and/or specific needs of the District; provide project updates, and reports to stakeholders.

12. Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of the various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.

 

 
Position Requirements
  • This position requires a minimum of one year experience working in systems and/or network support and a mid-level knowledge of systems administration tools, functions and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Two years of relevant work experience in desktop support and/or server administration.
  • Bilingual is a plus

Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in computer science preferred.  
Salary Schedule Information Technology  
Hiring Range $52,315 - $58,538 annually dependent on experience and education, plus additional $6,900 compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
