Description

The Assistant Accounting Clerk – Operations Accounting assists with the daily activities of the Tax Payment & Reconciliations Department as directed by the Accounting Manager – Tax Payments & Reconciliations and the Operations Accounting Supervisor. The role ensures accurate and timely completion of all duties assigned.

  • Prepares selected journal entries with detailed backup for review by the Operations Accounting Supervisor/Accounting Manager – Tax Payments & Reconciliations
  • Files journal entries and other backup or support per department standards
  • Assists with daily Tax Payment Clearing Account reconciliations as assigned
  • Prepares and balances daily deposits
  • Cross trains in order to assist with other position responsibilities in the case of absences
  • Advanced PC/Microsoft office skills (MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to speak clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to achieve results
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to apply principles of accounting to assist in the accuracy and integrity of general ledger utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to conceptualize problems, solutions, and recommendations into executive management presentations
  • Ability to move between executive leadership and close supervision of department tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic
 
Position Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education & Experience

  • 2+ years of accounting related work experience
  • Associates Degree in accounting
  • 5 years of related experience in the real estate tax industry
