Share Email Opening Title Lead Warehouse Specialist, Polk ASP (Temporary)  Description Job Title: Temporary Lead Ammo Warehouse Specialist Equivalent Labor Category: Warehouse Specialist Division/Department: AP Division/Polk ASP Report to: ASP Supervisor Scope: The Temporary Lead Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. In addition to the position's functional duties and responsibilities, the lead serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert for his/her function. The lead position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, but may schedule and direct the work flow of the section and review and give input on the production performance/work of the workers on his/her functional work team. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert for his/her function. Assists supervisor with the development and coordination of reports to meet all maintenance related quality objectives from supervisor. Assists the supervisor with ensuring major projects and program schedules and plans are met. Assists the supervisor with reviewing quality control and safety plans within the direction and guidance of management and site UXO personnel to ensure compliance with contract specifications. Applies applicable regulations and inspects all phases of a variety of work, services or operation for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing on-going work for compliance with contractual provisions as it pertains to assigned section. Responsible for safety and production requirements within the organization. Performs and assists assigned work force in analyzing customer support requirements while coordinating with site UXO personnel to facilitate a safe operational work areas for staff and customers. PMCS of equipment, inventorying of commodities, selection of type of storage within compatibility requirements, inspection of customer and site equipment, while maintaining familiarity with U.S. Army ammunition regulations, technical manuals and local SOP procedures. Mentors, and assists with on-the-job training and cross-training. Verifies materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages. Routes materials to prescribed storage locations. Stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials. Examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment. May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. May schedule and direct the work flow of the section. May review and give input on the production performance/work of the workers on his/her functional work team. Performs other related duties, as required.   Position Requirements Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required: Must have basic computer skills. Must have knowledge of ammunition regulations. Must be able to complete paperwork associated with ammunition. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to understand and use a computer workstation. Ability to operate or obtain a license to operate electric and diesel powered forklifts. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of three years of working knowledge of ammunition handling. Must have a minimum of three years of retail warehouse experience in a military environment. Must have a minimum of one year of operating 2-6k forklifts, electric / diesel. Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently Must have a valid and current state driver license. Must be able to obtain a military operator’s permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to perform all FDP activity functions including forklifts up to 15k. Must have or be able to pass Introduction to Ammunition (Ammo-45). Must have or be able to pass Technical Ammunition Course (Ammo-60). Must have or be able to pass Explosive Safety (Ammo-63). Must have or be able to pass Class V Issue and Turn-in Procedures (Ammo-64, 1) Must have or be able to pass Hazmat Familiarization and Safety in Transportation (Ammo-67). Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Must have a Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance (if required). Special Physical Or Work Conditions Required For The Job: Must be able to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation. Must utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices. Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Must be able to work at heights. Must be able to work under pressure and strenuous conditions. Must be able to meet short suspense dates. Must be able to conduct work in the out-of-doors area with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions i.e. extreme temperatures, low humidity, rain and blowing sand and dust. Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of stooping; climbing; standing; and sitting for long periods of uninterrupted time. May require shift work. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays.
