Description

Carver Companies is looking for a motivated, hard working, energetic person to join our team! This is a great entry-level opportunity for the right person who is not afraid to get dirty and get the job done!

Purpose:

Keep heavy duty repair shop and surrounding areas in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk and parking lot.

Work Attire

  • Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Hard Hats

Work Setting

  • Indoors, Environmentally Controlled, Heavy Duty Repair Shop
  • Outdoors, Exposed to Weather (on occasion)

Tasks

  • Service, clean, or supply restrooms.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Keep the entire shop area clean, neat and organized at all times.
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Clean windows, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
  • Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as meetings.
  • Clean furniture and fixtures.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.

Position Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Less than a High School Diploma

Knowledge:

No previous knowledge or experience is required, however the successful candidate will be "cleaning aggressive"
