Our Dealer Relationship Officer position has some availability for hybrid on-site and remote options in the Portland Metro Area.  

While this role has flexibility for partial hybrid work  - this position will require some work to be conducted  in-person and on-site in our Clackamas Branches and Administration Offices.

The Dealer Relationship Officer is responsible for cultivating long-term relationships with auto and recreational vehicle dealers, while promoting the Clackamas brand within the assigned market territory. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive indirect vehicle loan-marketing program through collaborating with the CUDL channel, management, and marketing resources. The Dealer Relationship Officer also provides ongoing support and training to Credit Union staff in promoting the CUDL program. This position requires a collaboration with the Director of Consumer Lending and other key stake holders to identify market trends, conduct market analysis, contribute to market strategies, and support recommended rate and program changes, all while ensuring our commitment for unparalleled service – the kind that creates the “best in class” at Clackamas.

Position Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Through frequent communication and in person interaction, as well as the ability to provide a knowledgeable and understanding approach to consulting, you will drive market share and foster meaningful relationships.
  • Maintain a consistent understanding of what each individual dealership requires from a service standpoint.
  • Keep up to date contact information for each individual dealership to include Dealer Principal/GM/GSM, best finance contact, and business manager for collateral management.
  • Ability to conduct needs assessments, identify problems, develop solutions, and take appropriate course of action.
  • Proficient skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office Word/Excel and loan software; knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations and experience in use of lending platforms and systems.
  • Demonstrated Working knowledge of credit reports and/or credit counseling.
  • Consistently monitor dealership data via Auto Count, CUDL, or any other source provided by lending.
  • Monthly reporting of the data as required by Lending Management.
  • Ability to relate critical measures and strategic vision to budget and action plans, focusing on increasing profitability, efficiency, and service.
  • Flexibility with daily/weekly schedule to meet needs of the program.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation required.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to auto dealership and credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws.
  • Meet or exceed sales and service goals, contributing to branch and member growth.

 

Other Expectations:

  • This position requires NMLS registration at the time of employment. Clackamas Federal Credit Union will initiate the NMLS registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site (http://fedregistry.nationwidelicensingsystem.org ) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.

 

Education:

  • REQUIRED: College degree in related field or a minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • PREFERRED: Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Communication.

 

Experience:

  • REQUIRED: Four years of similar or related duties in consumer loan underwriting, dealer financing, or a combination of consumer underwriting and processing or dealer financing. Including extensive knowledge of the auto industry with superior dealership relationship skills; and at least three years of experience in sales with a proven history of achievement and success.
  • PREFERRED: Greater than four years of experience would be generally required, including time spent in preparatory positions (as outlined above).

 

Pay Range:

Annual exempt salary - dependent on experience - ranging from $50,200 - $65,000 annual

** less applicable taxes; partial payment upon first full cycle pay check and after successful completion of six months of employment
