The Gas Fitter/Fuser must perform all Laborer essential duties and responsibilities.   Position Requirements Essential Duties/Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Assists crew leader in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work Assists equipment operators by swamping, hand digging, and locating underground obstructions Works with specialized equipment including fusion machines, jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners, and other industry tools Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenches, and dump truck Cleans and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards Performs plastic pipe fusion including socket, butt, mechanical, saddle and electro-fusion Taps and stops plastic and steel gas fittings Performs cathodic protection work including installation of anodes, test leads, and pipe to soil measurements Loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment onto and from trucks by hand Installs gas meters, regulators, piping, and pipefitting work with black iron pipe Repairs gas leaks including above ground meter sets and piping and below ground steel and plastic Keeps legible, hand-written, accurate records including daily work logs and installation records Perform other duties as assigned   Job Qualifications/Experience: One (1+) plus years experience working with underground utilities is required An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis   Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: Fitter certification is required Possession of a valid Driver's License is required Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job, and pass a pre-employment drug screen           Open Date 1/6/2022   Close Date   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
