Description

ProMedica Senior Care, formerly HCR ManorCare, provides a range of services, including skilled nursing care, assisted living, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice care, home health care and rehabilitation therapy.

The Manager of Plant Operations plans, coordinates and conducts capital improvement projects at healthcare facilities within assigned geographic region. Consults with facility operators to maximize value of improvements and facility maintenance resources within healthcare industry and regulatory requirements. Oversees work of and trains/develops Assistant Managers as needed.

  • Autonomously manages, plans, bids, schedules, coordinates, oversees project execution for multiple projects and multiple facilities. Communicates with regulatory agencies, contractors, facility operators, architects, engineers, designers, management, purchasing buyers regarding technical, scheduling, and budgetary project issues
  • Consults with facility operators to determine need for and scope for capital improvement projects
  • Prepares contract documents, reviews work completed, approves and accepts work, and reviews and approves invoices for payments
  • Consults with facility operators, engineers and management regarding facility maintenance issues including interviewing, training and oversight of maintenance personnel troubleshooting issues within buildings
  • Staffs the department with capable people. Plans the work for employees with due regard for performance and skills.
  • Ensures that potential safety/health hazards are eliminated or controlled through regular reviews of work activities, materials, and facilities. Provides employees with unsurpassed training and instructions on safe work practices with every aspect of their employment.

Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Operations Manager or associated field; Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree  
Position Requirements

Three to five years experience in construction planning, project management, facility management or equivalent. Experience in interactions with state healthcare regulatory agencies required.
