The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Utility Engineer Coordinator will undertake and support a range of routine tasks in the Engineering Department of the Museum. You will inspect, maintain, and test various HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety equipment.

 

This is a temporary, full-time position through June 2022.

You Will:

  • Repair on toilet facilities including soap dispensers.
  • Clean drains by means of plunger and handheld auger.
  • Perform general labor, such as carrying, stacking, and sorting materials used in and around the job site, as well as debris removal.
  • Perform general cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units.
  • Clean up job site and equipment by means of vacuum, mop, broom, floor scrubber, waxer, steam cleaner, high pressure spray cleaner, as well as other types of cleaning devices or equipment.
  • Use Employer supplied vehicle, travel for parts and supplies.
  • Clean and paint non-operating mechanical equipment.
  • Repair on registers and radiators.
  • Make minor repairs on furniture and floors.
  • Maintain and/or replace door hardware.
  • Perform miscellaneous handyman work requiring the limited use of hand tools.
  • Perform maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other touch up in building facilities.
  • Clean roof drains, air vents, registers, radiators, light fixtures, and engineering shop areas.
  • Perform maintenance of toilet facilities, excluding energized systems.
  • Assist with ordering and stock items.
  • Manage the ticketing system assisting Chief Engineer.
  • Replace fire extinguishers, air filters, lamps, and ceiling tiles not affecting fire sprinkler systems and other energized systems.

 

 
Position Requirements

You Have:

  • EPA 608 preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience in Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing maintenance/troubleshooting.
  • Hands on experience in drywall and painting.
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Friendly Demeanor and hospitable attitude with a passion for service industry.
  • Proficiency in Computer Concepts Microsoft word/excel power point presentation.
