The Position

The DOJ STOP School Violence Grant Coordinator is responsible for overall management of the federal grant for the Guadalupe School and Community Safety Project. Duties include coordination of staff and project partners for successful implementation of the project; interfacing with federal staff; overseeing project quality controls; overseeing project budget; ensuring contractual targets are met; and completion of qualitative and quantitative reports reflecting services rendered. FSA operates as the Little House by the Park in Guadalupe.

Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee the Guadalupe School and Community Safety Project and interface with local partners, including the Guadalupe Union School District and the City of Guadalupe Police Department, as well as federal staff, for successful project implementation.
    • Collaborate with community agencies and businesses to support community efforts promoting safety, wellness and resilience.
    • Oversee quality controls for the project including monitoring project outcomes, evaluating project effectiveness and staying current with research in the field.
    • Ensure contractual expectations and program targets are met and that services provided are within scope of practice.
    • Supervise collection of evaluation data and prepare written reports in conjunction with Data Specialist and project partners.
    • Maintain oversight of expenditures to ensure project related costs are within the outlined budget.
    • Participate in school and program events during traditional and non-traditional business hours to conduct outreach, build relationships, and provide resource information.
    • Provide interpretation and/or translation support when appropriate.
    • Serve as liaison between families, school, and community to promote family wellness.
 
Position Requirements

Employment Requirements:

  • BA required in child development, public administration, business, or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Experience in program management budget operations and oversight, data tracking and analysis.
  • Familiarity with community resources and education systems.
  • Computer and Internet literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; can adapt to using various types of software.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary to travel throughout Santa Barbara County.

 

Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:

  • This position is a full-time (40 hours per week), nonexempt, with benefits. Benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Generous vacation, holiday and sick leave also offered.
  • Pay is dependent on experience.
