Computer Network Defense (CND) Analyst

Project Overview:

This project supports DLA Cybersecurity in performing CSSP functions for DLA to include but not limited to performing incident response, cybersecurity assessment, cybersecurity content development and vulnerability management focused on Operational Technology.


Program Overview:

The JETS Program provides the full range of IT services, technical and management expertise that support applications, software, hardware, infrastructure, and systems, across the DLA IT Enterprise. Support is provided for the IT program offices and DLA Information Operations (J6) Office.



The Computer Network Defense (CND) Analyst will perform actions to protect, monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to unauthorized activity within assigned information systems and computer networks.


Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:

  • Employ cybersecurity capabilities and deliberate actions to respond to a CND alert or emerging situational awareness/threat.
  • Sever as an expert on CND requirements and compliance to such requirements by using IA tools and techniques to perform compliance analysis and correlation, tracking and remediation coordination, and escalating CND non-compliance.
  • Provide technical analysis and sustainment support for the enterprise for IA tools and applications.
  • Assist with the application of Defense-In-Depth signatures and perimeter defense controls to diminish network threats.
  • On occasion, short duration (1-5 days) site visits may be required as authorized by the Government.
  • While performing these functions, on-site support for isolated assets and networks may be required.
  • Assist with proposal development, if necessary.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
Position Requirements


  • Five (5) years’ relevant IT experience.
  • Previous experience working within a SIEM required.
  • Previous experience analyzing logs from multiple sources such as system event logs, F5, Firewalls, etc. required.
  • Previous experience reviewing and analyzing network traffic through packet captures



  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CompTIA Security + certification.
  • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority meeting DoD 8570.01 CSSP-IR (Incident Response). Must have one of the following:
    • CEH
    • CFR
    • CCNA Cyber Ops
    • CCNA-Security
    • CHFI
    • CySA+ **
    • GCFA
    • GCIH
    • SCYBER
    • PenTest+


Other Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must possess written verbal communication skills to appropriately document and brief.

Security Clearance:

  • Top Secret security clearance.
    • Must be eligible for an IT-1.


US Citizenship: This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Sawdey Solution Services to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.
