Can you deliver creative content in collaboration with internal and external organizational partners with ease? Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is looking for a talented professional to create, publish, and manage online content to advance OFN and community development financial institution (CDFI) visibility, reputation, and promotion of key activities to target audiences. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in telling the story of the impact of CDFIs through multimedia formats, noting news and milestones in the field. This includes OFN’s blog, newsletter, social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram), storytelling, website, PR support, and other writing and digital content production. You will secure content that engages OFN’s various audience segments and helps build a larger following for OFN and the entire CDFI industry. You will also support OFN’s borrower story and member profile programs, including asset gathering, editing, curation/management of database, and publication to digital media. This role provides results reporting and analysis on a quarterly basis and can work on other writing assignments as needed.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Works in collaboration with VP, Marketing to produce editorial calendar and authors or secures content to publish on the OFN blog, social media, and other key channels.
  • Supports production and execution of marketing plans for major events, such as the annual OFN Conference, and activity related to partner programs, such as the Finance Justice Fund.
  • Supports OFN’s borrower story and member profile program, including recruiting and collection, editing, fact checking, and publication.
  • Pursues annual targets for blog readership, social media followers, CDFI stories and member profiles produced, etc.
  • Builds and maintains social media presence, including campaigns to increase impressions and engagement.
  • Maintains and enforces online content best practices, both creative and technical, that uphold OFN brand principles and writing styles.
  • Has ability to work with design vendors and perform basic graphics production and modifications.
  • Identifies trends and insights using marketing analytics software, contributes to goal setting, measures and reports on performance of online platforms, and recommends adjustments to plans and content delivery based on results.
  • Writes, edits, and/or produces other online content as assigned, such as marketing emails and website copy.

 

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or 5-7 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience producing online, multi-channel content in a professional setting to connect with stakeholders through compelling messages and stories.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital and social media trends.
  • Experience in social media analytics, including understanding the key measurements to track.
  • Experience working with content management software; social media management software; email marketing software; and leading social media platforms (such as Wordpress); social media management software (such as Hootsuite); and email marketing software (such as Salesforce and Pardot).
  • Knowledge of AP Stylebook or Chicago Manual of Style and demonstrated experience at writing within editorial and brand guidelines.
  • Experience working with Adobe Create Suite or other graphic design software.
  • A strong passion for, understanding of, and commitment to OFN’s mission, vision and values; familiarity with the CDFI industry strongly preferred where one can be a fearless advocate, who is confident and resilient in OFN’s fight to drive capital into low-income communities.
  • Exceptional copy writing and editorial skills, including the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
  • A collaborative team player who possesses good interpersonal skills to work across all levels of the organization, humility, and a willingness to learn in all areas of our work.
  • Smart, quick seeker of knowledge with the ability to think creatively and can adapt content for social media, blog posts, and OFN events.
  • Understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.
  • Motivated, self-starter, independent, results oriented, and professional.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Comfort working in a small off environment.
  • Minimal travel required (up to 5% of time).
  • Job involves normal physical requirements for an office position.
