POSITION SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION: Operates in a substitute role to Supervise overall Casino operations under the Gaming General Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Works in cooperation with shift supervisors, in the absence of department head in supervising employee and informing employees of personnel policies.
  2. In cooperation with department manager, can recommend disciplinary action for employees. All duties for disciplinary action are to be handled by department manager with approval of General Manager. This includes all documentation such as warning reports, etc.
  3. Responsible for seeing that all systems of the Casino operations promote efficiency and improvement of the business.
  4. Maintains a smooth and efficient daily operation of the Casino
  5. Works in the capacity of staff in an emergency situation, if necessary, to ensure continuance in operations. If not qualified to do task, the Shift Manager will find staff that is qualified.
  6. Assists Marketing and Promotions with special projects, bussing and all on-site promotions.
  7. Supervises Casino for entire time scheduled. Can leave premises only when General Manager is present.
  8. Responsible for accounting of numbers of players in cooperation with department manager or shift supervisor.
  9. Controls over-staffing with department managers or shift supervisor.
  10. Has authority over all employees and department supervisors in general operation of Casino. This authority does not extend the specific operation of that department. Problems that arise when department manager is not on duty will be reported to the department manager in writing.
  11. Authorized to call law enforcement in absence of General Manager.
  12. Responsible for all comps in Casino with those assigned by Gaming
  13. Participates with General Manager in the review, creation, implementation and enforcement of Gaming and departmental Policies & Procedures designed to improve operational profitability and Guest service
  14. Monitors implementation of standards, procedures and performance; Assures drug testing policies and procedures are followed.
  15. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  16. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  17. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  18. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  19. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  20. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  21. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Knowledge of Casino Policies & Procedures and Internal Controls
  2. Knowledge of interpersonal communications, public communications, organizational communications and customer relations.
  3. Demonstrated leadership abilities and emulation of professionalism
  4. Available to travel; in-state and out of state

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Physically capable of sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.
  2. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.


EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: Associate’s Degree (Two-year college or university).

Experience: Two or more years related experience.

A combination of education and experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirement.

Computer Skills: Must have strong computer skills

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
