Description

The Computer Systems Analyst (Senior) reviews and analyzes factors and work to resolve problems impacting the planning, design, implementation, operation and maintenance of command and control (C2) voice and network infrastructure.

Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:

  • Evaluates, integrates, and implements systems and network components based on customer’s requirement documents.
  • Engineers Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions with extensive knowledge of Local Session Controller (LSC), Session Border Controller (SBC) connections, and Avaya and Cisco Communication Managers.
  • Works with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) during the transition from TDM to Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking.
  • Drafts, updates, and staffs contract requirements documents supporting AMC-wide C2 communications infrastructure.
  • Supports offsite assistance in network protocols, site preparation, and test and acceptance.
  • Develops local area network (LAN) designs and installations and determines equipment components for LAN implementations.
  • Evaluates existing, planned long-haul network trunking, long-haul lease support, outbound and inbound call management, and recommends optimal configurations and most effective and efficient utilization of network resources.
  • Evaluates, identifies, and documents changes in power for telecommunications and integrated data and video components/systems, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) sizing and capabilities to support existing and future requirements.
  • Designs, implements, and oversees tests of copper, fiber optic, network, backbone and distribution cabling to include underground, direct buried and aerial cable plant systems.
  • Directs isolation and resolution of cable faults on filled and pressurized cable utilizing various test equipment.
  • Serves as a central point of contact for customers to determine the status of implementation activities. Provides functional guidance, supervision, technical, educational support, and quality assurance/quality control as necessary.
  • Works with customers, considers and accommodates schedule changes in the implementation of C2 programs that impact base communications operations and functionality.
  • Utilizes existing database applications to manage the field service operation and generate required reports.
  • Organizes and serves as a member of site survey or systems acceptance teams.
  • Assist with proposal development, if necessary.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
