Bakery Applications Technician 


Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a bakery technician who is an exceptional communicator with high levels of drive and enthusiasm, who possesses a constant record of achievement and wants to be part of a dynamic team. The Bakery Applications Technician will report to the VP Applications & Technical Support and will work closely with our Technical Support Team and New Product Development and Sales groups. The individual will assist in growing and developing our business through building relationships with customers and providing them with technical support services.

Key Responsibilities:
•Establish and develop successful business relationships with the operations executives of current and future targeted customers.
•Provide superior technical support as required in the promotion of sales initiatives.
•Troubleshoot quality issues and deliver least cost solutions to customers.
•Provide regular follow-up and complete performance reviews with customers.
•Provide clear, accurate and prompt customer visit reports that meet company guidelines and satisfy customer expectations.
•Work with Sales in achieving volume and financial targets.
•Work with New Product Development in identifying need for and application of new products.
•Identify and communicate opportunities in the market which may result in increased business.
•Significant travel within North America is required.
 

Position Requirements Skills & Knowledge:
•Comprehensive industry knowledge of the major plant bakery sector in North America including process, product and quality challenges.
•A clear understanding of bakery formulas, baking ingredients, bakery manufacturing and related equipment, enzymes and the interactions that occur in baking science.
•Ability to analyze processes and to implement into the maintenance of Optimizing Quality and Bakery performance.
•Experience in working in a B2B food environment and operating at a senior commercial level.
•Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
•Above average computer literacy.

Education & Experience:
•AIB Graduate or Baking Science Degree.
•Certified Master Baker.
•Five to seven years industrial baking experience.
•Ability to troubleshoot and resolve quality faults in bread, buns and rolls.
•Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated.
•Spanish language skills would be beneficial.
 

Travel Significant travel within North America is required.

In addition, the company operates a dry blending facility in Greenville, TX and an enzymes blending facility in Wilsonville, OR. The company's head office is in Chesterfield (St. Louis), MO. The company employs approximately 300 people.
