ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive safety program covering training, compliance, awareness, administration and reporting.
2. Administer claims.
3. Travel to branches to insure compliance.
4. Conduct facility and job sight audits
5. Work closely with insurance carriers and brokers to identify opportunities, design and implement solutions for improved safety results.
6. Review and assist branches with OSHA 300 logs.
7. Assure all personnel are trained and communicated with regarding safety specific process changes.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate activities of Safety Coordinators in all branches.
2. Manage Driver Alert Programs.
3. Oversee USDOT compliance program and manage the Compliance Officer.
REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Minimum of 10 years EHS/safety experience preferably in heavy highway construction
2. Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, USDOT compliance and Traffic Control’
3 CSP, CSHO and ATSSA certifications
4. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
5. Computer skills in Excel and Word required.
6. Proven skills in areas of claims reduction and insurance policy administration.
