Operations Floater - Laredo 

Description

PURPOSE

This position is responsible for providing support in various operational roles based on operation needs.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Driver Manager Coverage
  • Plan assigned fleet of drivers for success by focusing on key aspects (hours of service, transit time, driver performance, customer requirements, safety compliance, etc.).
  • Focus on driver retention by build strong relationships with each driver, monitoring performance, and keeping drivers informed and motivated.
  • Ensure assigned fleet of drivers are compliant in all FMCSA regulations.
  • Monitor pickups and deliveries for service failures and proactively alert the necessary parties when a load is in jeopardy of failing.
  • Utilize operational reports and metrics to ensure operating effectiveness.
  • Load Coordinator Coverage
  • Ensure customer service is met through repowering, relaying, or rescheduling freight.
  • Minimize layover trucks.
  • Meet company’s driver home time goals.
  • Provide optimal plans for trucks in territory in adherence to company stated goals.
  • Monitor and manage non-paid miles.
  • Maximize utilization of local driver.
  • Equipment Control Coverage
  • Review carrier’s daily reports.
  • Assign empty equipment to the carriers.
  • Call customs brokers/forwarders to ensure that trailers that have been delivered are crossed into Mexico in a timely manner.
  • Account Manager Coverage
  • Meet or exceed individual customer Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Monitor and rectify scorecard by customer.
  • Ensure daily solicitation goals are met.
  • Ensure understanding and use of all USA Truck service offerings.
  • Meet or exceed operating plan line haul goals by accounts
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
  • Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bilingual - Spanish
  • General skills in Microsoft Office, multiline phone system, and DOT regulations

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

SUPERVISES OTHERS

This position supervises others and responsible for being results oriented, collaborative, delegate effectively and strive for harmony, ensuring team effectiveness.

 

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Frequently operate a computer for extended periods of time and regularly operate other office productivity machines
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and other employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions
  • Occasionally move up to 20 pounds of office objects
  • Occasionally attend meetings in buildings adjacent to corporate office requiring travel in outdoor weather conditions, and occasionally attend meetings at off-site locations with varied internal and external conditions
  • Travel domestically as necessary
