ERP Business Analyst I - Manufacturing

The ERP Business Analyst I - Manufacturing systems will be responsible for architect both technical and process solutions in order to maximize production efficiencies and minimize direct materials, labor, and overhead cost. This person will work closely with Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply-Chain, Materials Management, Accounting, and other IT team members to understand business requirements, design and deploy solutions, as well as support users through daily troubleshooting and training.

 

Expected Hours of Work

The expected work hours will be during normal business hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Friday (flexible).

 

Essential Functions

1. Support Manufacturing system for both break-fix issues and new requests following a SDLC approach:

  • Troubleshoot, gathering and prioritize system requirements in collaboration with the business
  • Functional and technical design specification, including integration between enterprise (ERP) and ancillary systems (SolidWorks CAD, WMS, Logistics, Quality, etc.)
  • Conduct IT quality assurance testing of ERP and ancillary systems
  • Coordination of UAT - managing test plans, creation of test scripts, results tracking and regression testing
  • Analyze, align, standardize, and assist in the clean-up of data structures to support implemented solutions.
  • Manage training strategies and plans, create user training materials and guides, and hold training sessions.
  • Troubleshoot daily system and process issues; assist users with ad-hoc support needs.

2. Work with business process owners and key users to optimize manufacturing and supply-chain systems and processes:

  • Production capacity planning - labor, machine, and material limitations.
  • Production scheduling and manufacturing execution.
  • Product costing, variance analysis, standard cost rolls
  • Product quality systems - defect tracking, corrective actions, etc.
  • Product labeling integration with labeling system and hardware
  • Standard costing, variance analysis, cost rolls, PPV
  • Master data management of items, BOMs, routings and work centers, primary suppliers, outsourced routing
  • ERP process integration with CAD, WMS, logistics systems, and quality systems

3. Participate in IT projects - assist in the execution of assigned project tasks from initiation to post-go-live support including collecting cross-functional requirements, identifying able solutions, testing, and training.

4. Work with external contractor resources in troubleshooting system issues, and in developing solutions.

5. Consult with business process owners on system and process development

6. Document integrated business processes including responsibility assignments, escalation paths, system how-to’s, supporting reports, corrective steps, etc.

7. Guide users in the maintenance of master data structures: parts, BOMs, routings, work centers, sites, bins, suppliers, etc.

8. Provide analytical support and assistance with report development.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Back up other IT members, as necessary.
  2. Assist in other IT department administrative duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

Education

*Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements*

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Admin or Related Field.

 

Work Experience

Required: 2 years of business analyst, process improvement, and/or ERP system testing following SDLC

Required: 1 year of system implementation projects - ideally multiple full life-cycle implementations

 

Licenses and Certifications

Preferred Upon Hire or In Progress: ITIL, Green or Black Belt Certifications

 

Skills

Medium Proficiency: Microsoft Dynamics GP and Manufacturing and Supply Chain applications

Medium Proficiency: Data mining, analysis, and reporting

Medium Proficiency: MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Visio)
