Our Collections Manager position has some availability for hybrid on-site and remote options in the Portland Metro Area.
While this role has flexibility for partial hybrid work - this position will require some work to be conducted in-person and on-site in our Clackamas Branches and Administration Offices.

Our Collections Manager is responsible for organizing, planning, and directing the activities of the Collections Department ensuring effective and efficient operations, in compliance with all policies and procedures, federal and state laws, rules and regulations for the Consumer, Real Estate, Commercial, and SBA loan portfolios.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for setting targets and goals for staff performance and department goals and developing an action plan to meet those goals; through observation and activity tracking, regularly assess team and individual skill levels and ensure that the team receives ongoing sales, service, and technical skills training.
- Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for staff; provides frequent feedback regarding individual and group performance and progress on established goals and objectives.
- Makes strategic and tactical decisions, as necessary and within Credit Union policies and guidelines, on the best course of action regarding specific collection activities. Support and guide staff in making similar decisions and enhancing their decision making skills and effectiveness.
- Represents the Credit Union for mediation, trials, and other court activities on collection accounts and on collection related issues as needed.
- Tracking and reporting and reviews of delinquent and charge-offs and reports to senior management collections actions with management
- Oversees, reviews, and authorizes charge-offs, repossessions, foreclosures, and various court collections actions.
- Responsible for abandoned, foreclosed, or assigned properties are appropriately maintained and that Credit Union assets are protected.
- Responsible for the sale of repossessed assets; also responsible for liquidations commercial loan collateral held with UCC or title.
- Responsible for installation and system administration for collections software. Conducts periodic reviews of existing systems, department policies, procedures and practices to ensure that they are effective, current and in legal compliance.
- Manages vendor relationships within the Collections Department. Responsible for the preparation and assisting in the review of Troubled Debt Restructure requests.
- Prepares written correspondence on delinquent accounts, recommends accounts for legal action, and completes foreclosure analysis ensuring all actions are initiated in a timely manner.

- Participation in community and/or volunteering events preferred.
- Continual understanding, applied knowledge of, and adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting.
- Ongoing professional development – must complete the annual required courses and trainings; must meet expectations on Performance Evaluations and Behavioral Expectations
Experience:
- REQUIRED: Five years of similar or related duties (as outlined in the essential functions), including time spent in similar or preparatory positions.
- PREFERRED: Greater than five years of similar or related duties (as outlined in the essential functions), including time spent in similar or preparatory positions.
Education:
- REQUIRED: A college degree.
- PREFERRED: A post graduate degree (similar to CPA or MBA).
Pay Range
Annual exempt salary - dependent on experience - ranging from $80,000 - $100,00 annual
