Manager, Business Systems Analysts

Nature and Scope

 

Manages the business systems design and development process supporting the computer software systems and business applications in conjunction with new and existing product and future development needs. Responsible for supporting the systems definition process in developing applications by ensuring requirements are accurately reflecting the business processes. This position applies principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysts in a best practices methodology. This position must balance multiple technical duties of ongoing maintenance of existing applications and systems with assigned projects.

  • Collaborate with business representatives to understand requirements generated by business strategies and operations.
  • Leads the development and implementation of software solutions.
  • Facilitates the development and evolution of the development processes and standards.
  • Document and communicate the enterprise applications and systems development.
  • Provides for the personal development of assigned personnel.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of project which includes but is not limited to: identifying resource needs, monitoring individual activities, and project planning and estimating
  • Produces/reviews status reports and take action on issues
  • Manages financial, temporal, and deliverable scopes of projects
  • Ensures documents are complete, current and stored in appropriate location
  • Complies with the Credit Unions methodology, enforces policies, standards, including internal and external controls.
  • Timely review and approval of time and invoices according to policies
  • Select and manage contract personnel and 3rd party software vendors
  • Leads employee personnel, which includes: the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, retention, and professional development of IT personnel
  • Conducts timely performance reviews, providing feedback, coaching and mentoring to all direct reports
  • Takes appropriate personnel career actions, including disciplinary actions, where applicable
  • Aligns goals with IT objectives and credit union goals
  • Reviews and approves deliverables prepared by team
  • Provides occasional off-hours support as needed

 

 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • A strong understanding of object oriented languages and development methods
  • A strong understanding of structured programming methods and data access concepts
  • Experience with Core API design, development and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience managing 3rd party vendors development and support services
  • Familiarity with banking software packages such as FIS MISER, FiServ DNA, Velocity, Encompass, or other equivalent packages
  • Experience working with and managing remote employees/teams
  • Proficiency with development languages including: Python, HTML5, JavaScript, ASP.NET, C#, MS-SQL Server
  • Experience with the following development technologies preferred: ODBC, OLE, and OCX concepts, Crystal Reports, MS-Visual Source Safe

Education and Experience

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience in Applications Development, Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Vendor Management, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, and Maintenance and Support.
    • Typically has 7 to 10 years of IT and business work experience including managing team(s) in business systems analysts and/or programming functions.
    • A demonstrated track record of delivering successful projects using industry standard project management tools.
