Donations Coordinator

Responsible to:  Asst. Store Mgr.

Status:  Hourly $15.50

General Responsibilities:

  • Operate light and medium-weight trucks to load, transport, and unload donations for Cat’s Meow Thrift Store.
  • Ensure standards for quality, customer service, and health and safety are met.
  • Protect the privacy of customers and hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Load or unload truck by hand or lift, as directed.
  • Work with managers to set schedule of pickup and delivery.
  • Maintain log of activities, including items transported.
  • Maintain daily vehicle safety checks and report overall truck maintenance issues.
  • Inspect and replenish truck equipment and supplies, such gas, oil, and water.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of truck and other warehouse equipment belonging to Cat’s Meow and the agency.
  • Regularly inspect and work with managerial team to address maintenance and safety issues within the warehouse area.
  • Operate equipment like fork truck, palette jack, and baler in warehouse area to complete necessary tasks.
  • Price and neatly place large items directly on sales floor.
  • Oversee metal recycling program.
  • Provide assistance in supporting volunteers and trainees.
  • Open and close store as well as operate registers as needed.
  • Participate in personal and professional development activities, including staff meetings, conferences, training opportunities, as identified and approved by supervisor.
  • Travel throughout service area as needed.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current fork lift certification or ability to pass certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Current Michigan chauffeur license with Medical Examiner’s Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to handle and/or reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Complete additional certification as required.
  • Understand the importance of daily work attendance, and its impact on coworkers, clients, and the agency.
  • Possess the ability to navigate and effectively resolve conflict.
  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be self-directed and able to prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be willing to accept new challenges.
  • Must have proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, and pass Mid Michigan CAA’s driving record review.
  • Successfully complete Criminal History and Child Abuse/Neglect clearance procedures at time of hire and when requested.
  • Must comply with Agency tobacco free and drug free policies.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination required.
