Job Title: Facilities Tech Dept: Facilities

Reports to: Facilities Manager Pay Range DOE

Av Hrs / Wk: 40 Varies FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary of Functions

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and renovation of the facilities and grounds while assisting with the day to day functions of the Facilities Department.

Accountability

Facilities Tech reports directly to the Facilities Manager

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain confidentiality of company and operational information
  2. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  3. Ensures to follow ERC Policies & Procedures
  4. Repairs and maintains physical structures of the Elwha River Casino facilities.
  5. Performs minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry maintenance and repairs such as replacing solenoid valves, switches, relays and thermostats, rewiring, small construction build outs, repairs and refinishes furniture, installing plumbing pipe and related plumbing fixtures, unstopping clogged sinks, toilets, drains and garbage disposals, resetting circuit breakers, replacing cord caps and light switches, makes minor repairs to heating, refrigeration, air conditioning units and other electrical equipment; repairs damaged walls and doors; paints inside and outside building walls.
  6. Uses a variety of carpenter's, plumber's, concrete and mechanical hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments.
  7. Informs Facilities Manager of any conformance or operational standards issues with equipment or systems of the facility
  8. Ensures work is complete and meets or exceeds productivity standards
  9. Recommends equipment purchases and replacements
  10. Ensures maintenance needs are met for other department needs
  11. Responsible for maintaining the grounds of the entire property; informs management of landscaping issues, maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the property providing preventative maintenance of grounds.
  12. Responsible for the seasonal upkeep of exterior grounds and maintaining the hardscape of the property.
  13. Attends career development trainings and workshops
  14. Directs employee or guest issues and problems to the appropriate Director or Manager
  15. Completes assignments and special projects
  16. Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the maintenance occupation or other related fields

(Maintenance, Grounds, or Equivalent)

  • Must be 18 years’ old
  • Develop and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with staff and the public
  • Knowledge in written and oral skills
  • Must be dependable
  • Must know how to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of cleaning equipment to include: brooms, vacuums, carpet extractors, floor polishers, etc
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of outdoor equipment to include: pressure washers, lawn mowers, and other yard equipment
  • The proper use and applications of various cleaning agents
  • Skills in solving practical problems and dealing with situation where only limited standardization exists

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

  • Gaming license issued by the Lower Elwha Gaming Commission
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED

  • Frequently involves sedentary work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication
  • Constantly requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm
  • Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Constantly requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks
  • Occasionally requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time
  • Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms
  • Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher positions or moving objects horizontally
  • Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles, infrequently requires crouching

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described hare are representative of those as employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environment conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is frequently subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Travel Requirements

Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required. Typical travel

time is generally less than a week.
