Senior Manager, Digital Content Production 

Description

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is seeking a highly creative, innovative, talented, and imaginative content creator who is passionate about movies and wants to employ their skills and experience to engage audiences and connect them to stories about filmmakers and their films. Reporting to the VP, Digital Marketing, you will be responsible for the end-to-end production of content for social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.), digital campaigns, brand and digital partnerships, and other types of digital video content intended to promote the Academy and its mission. You have the proven ability to act in a fast-paced environment on both Academy content initiatives as well as broader digital deliverables from development through pre-production, production, and post.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and produce compelling, informative, and innovative content from concept to final product that will resonate with our audience.
  • Partner with Academy membership, film talent, social influencers, studios and streamers to craft, fine-tune, and finalize concepts that align with digital strategy, organizational initiatives and goals.
  • Ensure that all video content meets high production quality standards that are representative of the Academy's emphasis on motion picture excellence.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional teams to deliver against asks while crafting an environment that allows for innovation.
  • Partner with the Sr. Manager, Digital Marketing and Video Production Manager to establish a consistent pipeline of new and innovative concepts.
  • Execute pre-production planning for live and premium content, including scheduling talent, building out production schedules, creating interview questions, defining storylines, and conceptualizing multi-platform content to support the performance of events and virtual programming.
  • Handle and clearly communicate overall campaign timelines, project deliverables, and resourcing needs.
  • Seek internal approvals and ensure quality controls are complete (creative approvals, proofreading, product correctness, accurate visual assets and copy, testing, and distribution).
  • Coordinate digital video management (including file management, meta-tagging, DRM, geo-fencing) with the Academy's IT team.
 
Position Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a video content creator/producer position; digital creative agency, studio, entertainment marketing experience is preferred.
  • A passion for film and a connection to entertainment, lifestyle, and social trends with a deep desire to produce the most creative and innovative content in the industry.
  • Experience with talent management.
  • Established network of world-class creative, production, photography, illustration, and freelance agency partners.
  • Experience handling multiple vendor relationships and defining a partner roster.
  • Experience in Graphic Design applied to digital experiences.
  • Expert-level experience in photo and video editing software such as Final Cut, Logic Pro and the Adobe suite of design products: Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
  • Must be collaborative with the ability to brainstorm effectively, pitch, and execute a steady flow of creative content.
  • Professional experience in developing up to date content and assets for social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest; technical troubleshooting skills desirable.
  • Strong project management and communication skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Core knowledge of all aspects of audio-visual production, film equipment, field lighting for video and still photography; post-production tools, timelines, process.
  • Superb attention to detail with the ability to edit within tight timeframes.
  • Must be self-driven and a team player with a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to be resourceful, versatile, and solution oriented.
  • Availability and flexibility to work on short notice and outside normal business hours as needed.
