Description

General Purpose
These crews are responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day. Growth is about the motivation of our team and there are endless opportunities to grow yourself and to grow with the company from laborer to crew lead, foreman, and above. General laborers at Track Utilities are so important to the day-to-day operations and should be able to troubleshoot, manage challenging jobs and naturally share our core values.

 
Position Requirements

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist crew leader in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work
  • Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions
  • Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners, and other necessary tools
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
  • Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenches, and dump truck
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
  • Complete duties as assigned
  • Travelling Required

 

Job Qualifications/Experience:

  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
  • Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
  • Ability to pass a motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
  • Ability to read and understand construction roll plans, multiple job-site construction drawings.
  • Ability to perform simple math and comprehend onsite staking Lot/Block, Cut/Fills
  • Ability to complete computer-based Operator Qualifications through EWN.
  • Ability to obtain DOT medical card.
  • English usage is sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
  • Travelling Required

 

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Experience working with underground utilities desired
  • CDL A is a plus, but not required
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus

 

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Idaho Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
