Share Email Opening Title Groundsworker for NRHT - Permanent Part Time  Description JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of the NR, Horticulture & Turf Manager, or designated supervisor, the Grounds worker for NRHT will perform day to day management and restoration of the districts green space. This part time position requires 90% field work in the out-of-doors.   Position Groundsworker for NRHT - Permanent Part Time   Position Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a wide variety of manual labor activities. Valid driver's license is required Must be licensed by the State of Illinois as a certified pesticide operator or become certified within 6 months of hiring for Natural Resources Must have a Chicago Wilderness burn certificate or become certified within 6 months of hiring for Natural Resources Must be able to carry 50 lbs. for 25 yards.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES A reasonable mechanical aptitude and interest in machinery and equipment used to maintain parks and natural areas. Ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to understand and follow both oral and written directions. Ability to use assorted hand tools such as, but not limited to, rakes, shovels, hand saws, pruners, etc. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
