Description

Overview:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for life-cycle accounting and reporting of services projects/contracts, as well as the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions of the overall assigned business unit. FP&A functions include financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis aThe person in this role will collaborate within the organization to provide financial reporting, variance analysis and cost savings calculations, as well as provide full operational support to an assigned group of sales and services. This position will report to the Director of Finance and have regular interaction with the senior management team. This is a role for a high-energy individual who can function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides monthly/quarterly internal financial reporting, forecasting and variance analysis to multiple levels of management.
  • Report and analyze current and past trends in KPI's including areas of bookings, revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and consultant utilization.
  • Manage and perform all aspects of the monthly close process for the assigned business unit.
  • Develop and maintain standard pricing models and perform cost and financial analysis of data.
  • Prepare specialized ad-hoc reports, analyses and models as requested.
  • Create and maintain projects in NetSuite ERP and OpenAir PSA systems.
  • Set up vendors, ensure proper paperwork compliance and issue relevant Purchase Orders.
  • Manage bi-monthly timesheet submission process for the assigned services team.
  • Generate and process invoices, including management of approval and submission.
  • Research billing disputes and issue credit memos as necessary.
  • Work with senior management and Accounting on annual budget process, including building, populating, and managing budget model for assigned business unit(s).
  • Aid in the creation and maintenance of business documentation as it relates to services business processes and procedures.
  • Assist with post-patch testing of financial and timekeeping systems, including but not limited to NetSuite, OpenAir and ServiceNow as needed.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and provide recommendations to management.
  • Create presentations for senior management as needed.
 
Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive analytical/finance experience including project management skills and a proven ability to work across functions within an organization.
  • Experience with NetSuite and/or OpenAir system(s) a plus.
  • Accounting, finance, or operational experience within the Professional Services industry is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience with financial reporting, preparing budget and forecasts, and providing financial support to functional groups within an organization.
  • Proficiency in one or more ERP/Accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) concepts.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the business and transactional implications of customer contracts.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter; must be able to work under minimal direct supervision and be willing to take initiative to resolve problems, make improvements and enforce policies.
  • Must possess a high degree of professionalism, adaptability and strong customer service skills including a high level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
