Description

Astronics Custom Control Concepts (Astronics CCC) designs, engineers, manufactures and certifies reliable digital in-flight entertainment and cabin management systems (IFE/CMS) for the corporate, private and VIP aircraft industry. Our custom digital applications have been installed and commissioned on a wide range of VIP/VVIP narrowbody and widebody platforms in addition to numerous private and utility jet, turboprop, and helicopter models.

Astronics CCC is a world leader in designing and integrating custom digital IFE/CMS systems. Our product line covers every facet of in-flight entertainment and cabin management control including: entertainment, lighting, call, temperature, audio/video on demand, tablet integration, real-time 3-D moving map, and much more. We also offer customized graphical user interfaces accessible on our touchscreens, allowing seamless and intuitive control of the IFE/CMS system.

SUMMARY: The Project Engineer will drive the execution of new and existing IFE/CMS products to build market-driven solutions for our customers. They will be responsible for driving and creating product required documents and will lead a cross-functional engineering development team to meet customer deliverables, costs and schedule goals.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Review, analyze, and interpret the technical requirements contained in requests for proposal (RFP), requests for quotation (RFQ) and information for bid (IFB) to generate material used in preparation of formal customer proposals
  • Prepare the development of Statement of Work (SOW) and Work Packages for subcontracts
  • Develop product requirements spec for cross functional engineering teams
  • Prepare project cost estimates; milestone deliverables and provide engineering input to program financial performance
  • Manage technical risks to the project and proactively mitigate these risks
  • Monitor, control, and report status of assigned projects and budget spend
  • Coordinate with Product Manager to ensure that deliverables are managed and executed to plan
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, test engineering, and configuration management to successfully transition product designs from concept to Black Label
  • Focus on improving customer satisfaction through process standardization, timely customer response, and working continuously to meet/exceed customer expectations
 
Position Requirements

Education:

  • Four-year engineering related degree required or equivalent experience.

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years design experience, planning and leading of technical projects that include engineering development teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.
  • Proficient in new product development processes and exposure to product lifecycle management.
  • Ability to operate in diverse team environments.
  • Coordination of different functional groups, and proficient in enabling team problem solving.
  • Team consensus building skills, and flexibility to meet changing project needs.
  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements, and estimating efforts.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer service.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work successfully with stakeholders at all levels.
