Description

The Accounting Clerk III – Accounts Payable performs full cycle Accounts Payable processing. The role assists in the daily activities of the Accounting Department as directed by the Accounting Manager ensuring accurate and timely completion of all duties assigned.

Accounts Payable

  • Processes all accounts payable invoices with verification of management approvals
  • Codes expenses to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports
  • Processes and posts invoices into accounts payable after review and verification of management approvals for payments to vendors
  • Scans and indexes accounts payable documentation into a document scanning warehouse, Web-Extender
  • Processes accounts payable by selecting payments through accounting system

 

General Ledger

  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
  • Prepares and posts journals entries for manual accounts payable accruals on a monthly basis with detailed backup management review
  • Performs monthly accounts payable modules and manual accounts payable reconciliations to the general ledger and investigates discrepancies

 

Other

  • Files accounts payable registers and other backup or support per department policies and procedures
  • Reviews accounts payable procedures and recommends process improvements
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft® Office Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Type 35+ wpm

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Proficiency in using MAS 200 software
  • Experience in the real estate tax industry
