Catering Conference Services Manager

Basic Job Function: To handle all aspects of functions as assigned by the Catering Director.

 
Position Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in all catering/conference activities to include: handling all sales enquiries, preparing proposals, creating Banquet Event Orders and floor plans, serving as the point of contact for clients throughout their stay, and preparing the summary of charges for groups at the completion of an event in conjunction with accounting.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all functional areas of food and beverage, hotel rates and packages, banquet facilities and capacities, catering menus (including specialty menus), wedding packages, and word processing software such as Microsoft Word and vendor information (i.e. entertainment, favors, and invitations).

· Conduct site inspections

· Attends a variety of meetings such as pre-conference meetings and the Weekly Banquet Event Order meeting. In absence of the Catering Director, attend Credit, Sales, Department Heads and morning meeting.

· Accurately enters relevant account information into Fidelio software program

· Monitors ongoing functions to assure quality standards are met

· Tactfully addresses event concerns and efficiently resolves variances in the Hotel’s quality standards. Checks and blocks space

  • Conducts outside sales calls on accounts that can produce catering/convention business. Conducts telephone solicitations.
  • Entertains clients for the purpose of creating positive business relationships and developing future revenue.

  • Works closely with front service and accounting operations relating to groups. Handles a variety of miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Catering Director.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by The Director of Catering.

  • Regular attendance is required for this position.

Education/Training Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.

    • Associates or Bachelors degree in business management preferred.

Experience/Skill Requirements:

  • Two (2) years hotel experience required.
  • Three (3) year catering experience required.
  • Salesforce Catering software Experience required.

Licenses/Certifications:

    • CPR and Standard First Aid Certification preferred.

    • Honolulu Liquor Commission (blue) Card required.
