Our Programmer position has some availability to work remotely in the Portland Metro Area.  

While this role has flexibility for hybrid work or remote virtual options - this position may require some work tasks to be conducted partially in-person and on-site in our Clackamas Branches and Administration Offices.

The Programmer I at Clackamas analyzes and evaluates existing systems or proposed systems, to include customizing core banking system software ensuring that the Credit Union’s information needs are met. Uses a full range of programming tasks, including program design, program coding, debugging and documentation for the core data processing system, and peripherals, including data manipulation, input and output routines reflecting a variety of configurations.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes and monitors system capabilities to design data processes and programs to maximize functionality.
  • Breaks down business needs and organizes them into system configurations and programming tasks.
  • Studies and resolves current operating problems.
  • Performs a variety of complex programming tasks, such as designing, documenting, and coding program logic.
  • Documents procedures for systems operations, maintenance schedules, back-up, and recovery.
  • Proactively troubleshoots and researches solutions to resolve problems and concerns.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and installs service packs and system releases; revises programs to work with changes as a result of system updates.
  • Provides a high standard of organizational security, confidentiality and preparedness in all service areas.
  • Ensures that programming operations and system updates are performed in accordance with Credit Union standards, policies, and procedures; with knowledge of laws and regulations.
  • Proactively seeks out ongoing training opportunities aimed at increasing skill.
  • Working knowledge of Symform, Microsoft SQL, HTML, ASP, XML, JavaScript, Perl, .NET and Visual Basic. Prefers knowledge and experience in UNIX/AIX, Symitar Episys PowerOn, Microsoft Access, Microsoft IIS / Apache, SQL Server Database administration, Knowledge of web applications, development languages and web development tools.

Position Requirements

Other Expectations:

  • AIX system administration
  • Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, PHP, HTML/CSS
  • Project Management abilities.
  • Participation in community and/or volunteering events preferred.
  • Continual understanding, applied knowledge of, and adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting.
  • Ongoing professional development – must complete the annual required courses and trainings; must meet expectations on Performance Evaluations and Behavioral Expectations.

 

Experience:

  • REQUIRED: One year of experience with Episys PowerOn and Episys SymformPDF, and two years of similar or related duties (as outlined in the essential functions), including time spent in similar or preparatory positions.
  • PREFERRED: Greater than one year of experience with Episys PowerOn and Episys SymformPDF, and greater than two years of similar or related duties.

 

Education:

  • REQUIRED: A college degree.
  • PREFERRED: Completion of a specialized course or certification (Certifications such as MCSA, MCAD, MCSD, MCDBA).

 

Pay Range

Annual exempt salary - dependent on experience

** less applicable taxes; partial payment upon first full cycle pay check and after successful completion of six months of employment
