Sober Transitional House - House Monitor 

Description

The Sober Transitional House - House Monitor will advocate and support individuals with substance use disorders and possible co-occuring disorders. The STH House Monitor will provide, and maintain a safe environment for all staff and clients. Incumbent will monitor, both male and female houses, primarily during the swing and graveyard shifts. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with the Yellowhawk Mission and Vision statements, policies and relevant laws.

Essential Duties

  1. Provides a welcoming impression for all patients and visitors.
  2. Monitors clients in Sober Transitional Housing.
  3. Reports suspicions of abuse or neglect to appropriate authorities (mandatory reporting requirements).
  4. Maintains documentation, collects, and reports data as required.
  5. Maintains confidentiality of all aspects and operations of the Sober Transitional House.
  6. Respects and maintains professional and personal boundaries at all times.
  7. Will promote a trustworthy and respectful atmosphere between staff and clients.
  8. Serves as a role model for an individual and establishes a peer relationship.
  9. Demonstrate consistency by supporting individuals during ordinary and extraordinary times.
  10. Supports the development of effective communication, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  11. Enforce the rules and policies of the Sober Transitional House.
  12. Provides resource linkage to community supports and professional services.
  13. Ability to adhere to responsibilities and limits of the role.
  14. Must recognize and adhere to the rules of confidentiality.
  15. Recognizes and maintains a respectful, trusting and professional relationship with patients.
  16. Recognize and address personal.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

 

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or Equivalent.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years abstinence or in recovery from a substance use disorder with a strong recovery program and system of natural supports.
  3. Ability to understand and execute complex written and verbal instructions.
  4. Demonstrated skill and ability to use automated office equipment, i.e., copier, printer, telephones.
  5. Demonstrated experience with basic computer skills and computer programs – i.e. Microsoft Office programs
  6. Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills
  7. Must submit to and pass a reference and criminal background check.
  8. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and intermittent drug/alcohol testing.
  9. Must have ability to work a rotating schedule that includes days, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with the recovery process of alcohol and other drug use.
  2. Conflict resolution skills.
  3. Experience working with or supporting a trauma-informed system of care.
  4. Basic computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills and familiarity with Native American/Alaska Native cultures and the CTUIR community.
  5. Experience working in a tribal healthcare system.
