About the Organization Established June 15, 1971, Valley Community Services Board is a publicly funded organization where citizens of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta and Highland Counties can receive Behavioral Health, Substance Use and Developmental Services services. Valley Community Services Board serves as the single point of entry into publicly funded mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder services for these localities.

Description

The Community-based Services Supportive Specialist will provide assistance to the Adult MH Case management program, Child MH Case Management program, and Housing and Homeless Services. The incumbent will contribute to and help to manage and review case management referrals, complete permanent supportive housing check request, and assist in the reimbursement process. The incumbent will monitor the Medicaid status, liabilities, and client balances of clients participating in services. This position will also be essential in improving the culture and wellbeing of the department through providing support to the staff providing services to various populations in the community.

 
Position Requirements

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of relevant behavioral health experience (preferred); OR currently enrolled in a college level program in human services field. Applicants must have a valid VA driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
