Geneva College is a Christian liberal arts college in the reformed tradition located about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh. Founded in 1848 by the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, Geneva has majors in both liberal arts and pre-professional programs, and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Geneva's faculty provide a challenging education that prepares students for careers, for further education, and for life. In all fields of study, students are challenged to explore the implications of the Christian faith on their discipline. Geneva has approximately 1,350 students enrolled in its various programs taught by its faculty of nearly 70 members. The college seeks to prepare students to serve Christ and the world in all areas of society, including work, family, and the church. Description

Summary of Responsibilities: Campus trucker responsible for all campus moves and deliveries. Support of Event's staff when deliveries are required.

Essential Responsibilities: (These essential responsibilities are those the individual must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.)

  1. Campus trucking and delivery.
  2. Logistical support of Campus Event's Staff.
  3. Moves office furniture when required.
  4. May perform general maintenance, non-technical mechanical, electrical and plumbing repairs, custodial, and trash removal tasks.
  5. Performs snow removal, as required.
  6. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  7. Supervision: Supervise student employees to include training, planning, assigning, and directing work, coaching, addressing complaints and resolving problems
  8. Must have a mindset of mentoring employees under supervision. Should be able to lead in a way that sets a good example, promotes teamwork, and encourages a positive, efficient work environment.

Secondary Responsibilities: (These are responsibilities that may be delegated in order to make reasonable accommodation for an employee).

  1. Records maintenance skills.
  2. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  3. Ability to use hand and power tools.
  4. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Job Requirements - Labor:

  1. General: Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed or are able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential responsibilities of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations in order to safely perform the essential responsibilities of the job.
  2. Physical: Should be able to perform the following and similar physical demands in completing work tasks: (Place each of the following words into one of the four repetition levels below: walking, climbing, stooping, reaching, pushing, feeling, crawling, crouching, lifting, pulling, standing, kneeling, carrying, handling, talking, hearing, seeing, sitting, fingering. Able to regularly lift up to 75lbs.
  3. Confidentiality: Individuals must recognize that management of data, including personal information, grades, budgets, programs, and policies is necessary to the operation of the College. Such information must be kept private and confidential for the protection of the College and to obey Federal and/or State laws. Should there be doubt as to whether a certain matter is to be protected, it should be discussed with your supervisor before making a disclosure.
  4. Mental: Must be able to reason, analyze, prioritize, conceptualize, make judgments, and solve problems.
  5. Valid current drivers license

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum:
    1. Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED
    2. Experience: At least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
    3. Christian Commitment: Eligible candidates must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant evangelical Christian church. Preference will be given to candidates who support and have an articulate understanding of the Reformed faith. The individual must understand and support the College’s “Foundational Concepts of Christian Education” by expressing an evangelical Christian profession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work.
  2. Preferred:
    1. Education/Certification: Higher education in Facilities related courses
    2. Experience: 1 years of experience working in higher education
    3. Skill/Abilities: Skills obtained through working in a higher education setting.
    4. Skills and abilities necessary to:
      1. Perform a wide range of non-technical maintenance
      2. Monitor performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems
      3. Repair electrical fixtures, switches, and outlets
      4. Repair leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed lines, replacing windows, painting; and
      5. Operate lawn and turf equipment.
