Description

The Global Decision Support System (GDSS) Specialist provides functional management requirements support and subject matter expertise for the Air Mobility Command’s (AMC) primary Command and Control (C2) mission execution system GDSS, and its multiple user applications/components.

Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:

  • Acts as the conduit between Mobility Air Forces (MAF) users and the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC)/HBMSA Program Executive Office (PEO) for functional requirements.
  • Supports daily requirements analysis for MAF C2 system development and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)/Working Groups.
  • Analyzes system requirements in respect to the impact to users, productivity, performance, and additional requirements that are under development.
  • Receives, documents, identifies, and clarifies user requirements for future software developments in support of MAF C2 systems.
  • Works hand-in-hand with Functional Manager, PEO, users and software development teams to clarify requirements, and ensure precise implementation of designs and functionality.
  • Coordinates information services and data requirements with Mobility Enterprise Information Services (MEIS) development team.
  • Identifies/clarifies user requirements in the Requirements Management (RM) tool and prioritizes based on the AMC Master Capability List (MCL); identifies, defines, tracks, and documents linkage to the AMC Functional Capability Teams (FCTs) identified shortfalls.
  • Organizes and manages communication lines between application developers and the functional user community to ensure requirements are met.
  • Coordinates and validates GDSS exercise use and training requirements for AMC mission partners.
  • Coordinates functional community participation in Joint Application Design/Rapid Application Development (JAD/RAD) sessions.
  • Reviews upcoming Release Specification Agreement (RSA) for accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Provides recommendations for developing, updating, and reviewing program documentation, such as operational requirement documents; mission needs statements; concept of operations; and other C2 system baseline documents.
  • In conjunction with the Government, makes the necessary arrangements to contact selected units, headquarters, and 618 AOC functional area experts in support of requirement development and prioritization.
  • Assist with proposal development, if necessary.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
