Job Description

This position will serve in a critical role on the dynamic and collaborative valuation team. This position will have the opportunity to build systems and processes from the ground up, finding creative analytical solutions to maximize value for the company and directly impact the comapany's financial success.

This position reports to the Director of Valuation.

Job Function

  • Develop and maintain actuarial models in Prophet for cash flow testing, asset liability management, financial planning, ORSA and other modeling projects.
  • Design, test, and implement new valuation models, conduct parallel runs, and oversee roll-out to production.
  • Perform financial reporting work including statutory, tax and GAAP valuations for traditional life, universal life and annuity products using CASE valuation software.
  • Prepare valuation extracts and model data, develop appropriate assumptions and complete financial reports.
  • Support strategic decision-making by evaluating valuation methodologies and quantifying the financial impact.
  • Perform detailed actuarial calculations, attribution analysis and roll-forward analysis.
  • Collaborate with peers to establish, enhance and automate financial reporting processes. 
 
Position Requirements

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivelent required.
  • Five years of actuarial experience in a hands-on work environment for a mid to large size life insurance company with understanding of life insurance and annuity products.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple critical projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines.
  • Experience with Prophet, CASE, ARCVAL, ARCBase and Experience Analyzer a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and SQL.
