Description

Location: Durham, NC/Gaithersburg, MD/Remote

We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a PhD (preferred) or master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, data science, or closely related field for a 10-12 week internship during the summer of 2022. 

Objectives/Goals of this Position:

Independently evaluate an open-ended question of interest, perform literature and methodology review and provide a statistical solution, report and recommendation. There are multiple available topics based on real-world issues from current clinical trials, including:

  • Subgroup discovery
  • Longitudinal analysis of biomarkers
  • Surrogate endpint validation
  • Zero inflated models
  • Intercurrent events

The project will lead to a presentation and actionable recommendations to current clinical trial teams, and possibly a peer-reviewed publication.

Primary Duties:

Explore and propose statistical methodology suitable to answer a question of interest, implement simulation and modeling analyses, report findings.

 
Position Requirements
  • PhD (preferred) or master-level student working towards a degree in statistics, biostatistics, data science, or closely related field.
  • Proficiency in SAS or R, literature review skills, independent statistical method development, knowledge of simulations. Prior knowledge of some of the aforementioned topics is a plus.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0+
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
