The Brand and Marketing Strategist works cross-functionally to create and optimize cross-channel campaigns and engagement tactics that drive member acquisition and retention and will be responsible for independently managing and determining the outcome for projects in all areas of marketing and driving positive member experience. This role reports to the Creative Services Manager towards complementing the success of the Manager and the Marketing department. Brand and Marketing Strategist must be a self-starter who operates independently with little to no supervision. Responsible for autonomously building marketing and communications strategies which seek to enhance the Blue brand and drive membership and organizational growth, including but not limited to oversight of: reputation management for the credit union, internal Email communications to all employees , external Email marketing campaigns to 100,000+ members worldwide, independently strategizing SWAG for Blue, as well as conception and launching an online store featuring Blue­ branded items and all related aspects of costing, return on investment, and impact on the Blue brand. Ability to effectively communicate to and influence executives and C-Suite level leadership. Serves as backup to the Creative Services Manager when necessary. This role acts as a brand champion, ensures all communications accurately and consistently drives the brand strategy, and is the hub within the marketing organization to determine branding and marketing efforts across all departments within the credit union as Blue reinforces its position as the best credit union in the country. This position will also focus on:

  • Independently creates and manages strategic initiatives according to budget with minimal to no supervision while keeping the Creative Services Manager informed. Leads marketing projects and initiatives to ensure strategy alignment, brand alignment and awareness, meeting deadlines, and execution of work.

  • Leads brainstorms with cross-functional teams to develop ideas on how to bring product to marketing and encourages group participation/ideation. Establishes creative reviews for cross-functional departments. Collaborates with others to execute special needs for products, initiatives, and launches.

  • Manages vendor relations, pricing, and negotiations; exercises fiscal discipline to align with budget; monitors return on investment.

  • Develops business cases to support new marketing strategies, budget requests, projects, and marketing plans Use customer feedback to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Independently formulates specific marketing goals that align with the overall direction and business goals of the credit union.

  • Tracks and measure marketing outcomes including marketing activities, response, leads, sales, retention, and ROI.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Follows established company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Sarbanes Oxley controls, Business Ethics and Standard of Conduct, Electronic Communications, Confidentiality and Privacy.

Compensation: $50,005 - $70,595

 
Position Requirements

EXPERIENCE: Five years to eight years of hands on marketing experience.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Bachelor's Degree required.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

OTHER SKILLS: Must be team player who embraces a collaborative, fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work on various projects at one time, prioritize deliverables, and collaborate with other departments• Encourages team partnership and promotes enthusiasm• Ability to independently exercise discretion and good judgement in carrying out important assignments which may have significant financial impact to the credit union• Knowledge and proven success in planning and developing content for various media types, including Email marketing, direct mail marketing, digital advertising, print collateral, or social media• Email campaign management experience required • Ability to develop a brand's messaging platform, while writing clear, engaging, and consistent messaging tailored for the target audience (copywriting samples will be requested)• Ability to manage multiple functions across many brands with a higher-level consideration for interdependencies, efficiencies and integrated strategies across the enterprise• Highly collaborative with the ability to work comfortably with employees at all levels in the organization, including C-Suite leadership• Ability to communicate complex ideas with others (all levels) and persuade audience to align to a single, strategic point of view• Self-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business efficiency• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment under pressure while demonstrating the utmost professionalism and a strong customer-focused attitude• Maintains strong working knowledge of existing and emerging traditional and digital marketing channels, technologies and platforms that can efficiently and effectively help advance our business• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong interpersonal and presentation skills• Mastery of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook and Power Point required• Expertise in managing agencies, vendors and other external/internal partners

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 1O lbs. Must be capable of climbing/ descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

MENTAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/ requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
