Together the five businesses create a leading omnichannel retailer of specialty agriculture and hydroponics equipment and supplies..   Description The Purchasing Analyst oversees Inventory and Purchasing trends for the GreenCoast Supply Chain with the goal of lowering Cost of Goods and generating greater overall profit.  This position works with Purchasing, Loss Prevention, Sales and Accounting teams while reporting directly to the Director of Purchasing.   Position Requirements Primary Functions Overall Ensure optimum inventory quantities throughout the chain.  Analyze inventory run rates and value to assist in Purchasing forecasts. Assume ultimate responsibility for your actions. Inventory   Maintain Inventory Levels Analyze Inventory levels across the chain and ensure stores are stocked appropriately for regional and seasonality, while keeping to location specific stocking budgets. Analyze and maintain metric for evolving inventory levels based on sales volume. Stale Inventory Assist with the development and improvement of stale inventory metrics and guidelines. Assist in improving purchasing strategies which serve to minimize future stale inventory buildup through identifying and reporting on bad purchasing at store level. Analyze current inventory on hand against sales projections to balance/re-distribute stale inventory across Chain to maximize profits. Lead all end of year product write offs. Inventory Distribution Initiate weekly inventory transfers from Distribution Hubs. Routinely analyze inventory quantity minimums, reporting suggested updates to the Purchasing team. Audit inter-store transfers, minimizing freight movement for maximum profit. Returns Assess and review product returns throughout the enterprise to ensure return SOPs are being adhered to. Purchasing  Purchase Orders Review daily Purchase Orders at the store level to ensure purchasers are ordering to limit stale inventory, maximize vendor deals, and increase overall profits. Review Purchase Adjustments and report findings to both Accounting and Purchasing teams. Requirement A minimum of 2 years' experience as a purchasing associate, or a similar role. Excellent knowledge of financial best practices and the buying process. Experience in Net Suite is a HUGE PLUS! Good customer service skills. The ability to create strong working relationships with personnel, suppliers, and management. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
