Description

Centennial Resource Development, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDEV) is currently seeking a Sr. Production Engineer to report to the Production Team Leader. The Sr. Production Engineer will be a key member of our Production team and be expected to manage an assigned area of production, working side by side with a full asset team, manage flowback and initial lift install, troubleshoot failures and design workover procedures, manage chemical programs, and manage LOE for the area. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in Midland, TX.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Manage an assigned production area within the Delaware Basin which includes multiple well types and lift types
  • Within the area of responsibility, work closely with a full asset team including field operations, reservoir engineering, geology, facilities, land, regulatory, drilling, and completions
  • Coordinate with the field operations teams to optimize base production and reduce downtime. Spend time in the field as needed.
  • Design, analyze, and optimize artificial lift systems, including rod lift, gas lift, ESP’s, jet pumps and plunger lift
  • Manage and optimize chemical programs treating scale, corrosion, H2S, etc.
  • Create cost estimates and AFE’s for new drill wells, workovers, recompletions, and well maintenance operations
  • Coordinate with wellsite supervisor and service providers to execute workover procedures
  • Lead regularly scheduled well reviews with field operations and reservoir engineers
  • Analyze well failures, make and implement recommendations for optimization
  • Track and monitor LOE and capital spending to ensure compliance with budgets
  • Demonstrate Health, Safety & Environmental leadership

Compensation & Benefits Information:

  • Salary range is approximately $142,000 - $190,000, depending on specific experience*
  • Other forms of compensation for this position include:
    • Target bonus of 20% of base salary and any eligible overtime wages (discretionary based on company and individual performance)

Position Requirements

Education/Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline, Petroleum Preferred.
  • Recommended minimum of 5 years of upstream oil/gas industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience with horizontal well production in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated work experience in the areas of artificial lift, production, workover operations and project economics
  • Prefer experience utilizing production industry engineering software packages such as: Generwell, Well View, ProdView, Rod Star, and Nodal analysis
  • Proficiency with PC based programs, specifically Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) and Spotfire
